If you are in any doubt about any safety precautions you need to take when using our hire equipment then please ask a member of staff, we'll be more than happy to help and advise.
Below are links to a few useful guides published by the Health & Safety Executive to some common hazards you may be exposed to when operating power tools or machinery.
Dust hazards and precautions
Many work activities and tools can create dust, and exposure to dust in excessive amounts can create respiratory problems. Take steps to protect yourself when exposed to dust.
Vibration risks
Vibration can cause painful damage to hands and fingers, and shocks or jolts from driving some vehicles may cause back pain in later life. Be careful with extended exposure to vibration.
Working at height
Working at height is one of the biggest causes of fatalities and major injuries in the construction industry. Common cases include falls from ladders, towers, scaffolding and through fragile surfaces. Some simple precautions can keep you safe.
Noise and hearing loss
Hearing loss caused by work is preventable, but once your hearing has gone it will not come back. Some 17,000 people in the UK suffer deafness, ringing in the ears or other ear conditions caused by excessive noise at work.
