Towns and cities must have a competitive edge and create a thriving, bustling and vibrant environment to survive the challenges faced by high streets, such as out of town developments. With this in mind, in 2016 the Newry Business Improvement District (BID) was established, representing & supporting over 500 businesses in the centre of Newry.
As part of this exciting opportunity for the town centre, Hill Street is currently a hive of activity and with funding for the Shop Front Grant Scheme from Newry, Mourne & Down District Council. This has helped with getting over 30 businesses re-painted or new signage and windows installed.
As we go into the new year, it is important for businesses to thrive and Newry BID has helped to re-invent the town centre, all of which is bringing back a source of pride for the people of Newry.
In the pictures, you can see one such project where our boomlift is helping to regenerate and rejuvenate the Hanna & Hillen building at the corner of Hill street & Kildare street. Our own Chris Gorman is meeting with David Hanna of Hanna Hillen Estates & Hanna Hillen Finacntial Services LLP, who is fully behind the scheme and is very impressed with how quickly & safely, painting work can be carried out using one of our ATJ200 (65ft) boomlifts.
